<===========THE ARC DE TRIOMPHE
This huge arch in Paris, France, (164 feet high, 148 feet long, 72 feet wide) stands at the end of the Avenue des Champs Elysees and the center of the Place de l'Etoile, formed by the intersection of twelve diverging streets. The architect was Jean Chalgrin, and he designed the arch to honor the Napolen's victories and was designed of Rome's Arc of Titus.
ROME'S ARC OF TITUS ============>
The Notre Dame Cathedral
building began: 1163-1345
This gigantic cathedral took 163 years to build! This extraordinary building is the Nortre Dame Cathedral. The Romans built the church to worship the god Jupiter in the new gothic style. It was the first cathedral built on a monumental scale and became the prototype for other cathedrals in France, like the Amiens, Chartres and Rhemis, just to name the most famous. This massive cathedral took 163 years to build partly because the cathedral was enlarged during the construction. The result is a overwhelming building, 128 meters long, with two sixty-nine meter tall towers. The building has many large stained glass windows with impressive gargoyles on the outside. During the Revolution many of the cathedrals architectural details were destroyed, so restoration started in 1991 and finished in 2001.
INSIDE OF THE NOTRE DAME CATHEDERAL -->
Left Bank (Rive Guache) and Right Bank (Rive Droite)
The La Rive Guache (The Left Bank) is the southern bank of the Seine River in Paris. Here, the river flows roughly westwards cutting the city into two. The Rive Droite is to the south. The Left Bank is one of the city's most romantic districts.You can find a well populated tourist attraction The Eiffle Tower. The Left Bank is also where most of Paris's most famous artists, writers, and philosiphers are/were including Pablo Piccaso. Some of it's famous streets are the Boulevard Saint-Germain, Boulevard Saint-Michel, and the Rue de Rennes. The Left Bank is also were all the top fashion clothing is. Top brand and designer stores are all in one .
The Right Bank is mostly elegant rich neighborhoods and boutiques. Here you can find elegance and sophistication you can not find on the Left Bank. The Right Bank's most famous street is the Champs-Elysees. A common tourist attraction on the Right Bank is the Arc de Triomphe and The Louvre.
The Right Bank-->

The Louvre
The Louvre is located on Paris's Right Bank of the Seine river. The place is very famous because it is one of the largest museums in the world. This museum holds pricless works of art including Dvinci's most famous, The Mona Lisa. The museum is a large brown building with a beautiful glass pyramid in front of it. It is a very interesting place for The Louvre was not intended to be a museum, but to keep Henry VI's drawings and paintings. The beautiful museum makes us forget that it is actuly a palace, and opened as a public art museum in 1793.
The Seine River
The Seine River flows right through the heart of Paris, France. Known as a tourist attraction, thr river divides Paris into two parts, The Left Bank and The Right Bank. On the the Right side lies The Notre Dame Catherderal, The Louvre, and the Are de Triomphe,and the Eiffle Tower on the Left Bank. This river is used for transporting goods and people around Paris. Many tourists get extremly brain boggled by the Laft and Right Banks. Instead of asking a local for help, ask the Seine River first! You can tell that the Left Bank is on the left and the Right Bank is on the right when you are facing DOWNSTREAM. I fyou are still confused where you are DO NOT LOOK AT THE BOATS, for they travel upstream. Try throwing a potatoe chip, or watch a piece of debris float by and look at the direction it is going. It will flow the same as the river, downstream. Also the Seine River is the main water source for Paris, as well as neighboring cities or towns.
The Ile de la Cite
The Ile de al Cite is one of the two natural islands in the middle of the Seine River (with the other being the Ile Saint-Louis). It is in the center of Paris and the location where the medival city was refounded. The western end of the island has a palace and the eastern side has the Notre Dame Cathedral. The Ile de la Cite is also Paris's historical site with the oldest landmark dating back to 1163.
